I saw on the news today that a barrel of crude was up to $83.  I don't see any reason for this to slow down.   Prices may go up and down, but we will always see new highs year after year.

And I think it will continue to go up, simply because of the cut in the interest rate... the dollar as a currency is very weak right now, so it is cheaper to buy in dollars than in Euros, for example, so the US has to bring the price up to get more money.  Right now 1 Euro = $1.40...

I get so depressed when I watch the news. I used to always check on what a barrel was going for and now I tend just to stay away.

Well, with the dollar exchange and the gas prices, the gallon of gasoline here in Berlin right now is US$7.50... I'm so happy I don't have to fill up a car with these prices!!!  I think I would be crying the whole time I had to go to the gas station!

Wow, $7.50 for one gallon seems like so much to me! I have been paying less than 3 dollars for quite a few months now!

Jewel, $7.50 i not only too much for you! It is for everybody!  The traffic in Berlin has reduced a bit because people are using mass transit and bikes if they can avoid to use the car.  After all, a monthly card for mass transportation is a lot cheaper than 10 gallons of gas!  And the bike even cheaper because its free!  I see that only people that really need to use a car are doing it.  On the other hand, the Taxis are getting busy!

Wow, I would not be able to use my van at all at that price!! Here is it about 2.75 well between 2.55 - 2.75 US for a gallon (regular)

Right now it costs $50.00 to fill the tank of my van where it was only $25.00 just before Bush took office.
