I have another one of those does this work type questions for the group. I have been told not to fill up the tank all the way, like slightly above half a tank because it will save on gas because the car doesn't have to carry around the weight of the extra gallons. I am not sure if that is totally realistic but I thought I would ask. Does anyone really know if these helps?

every extra 100lbs decreases you mpg by 2%
if i remember correctly...

Ok, let's say that you would save on gas by not filling the tank...  but I am not willing to take the risk! I haven't use my car too much, only for local stuf.  I filled up the last time when gas was 3,35....  less than a month ago.  Today is 4.03!  I'm happy I filled all the way up!

So if 100lb decreases your mpg by 2%, how much does a tank of fuel weigh?
